This is exactly what we needed as we travel standby which we means we are checking flights often. The laptop we were carrying was so heavy and this is so lightweight! It has functioned perfectly, easy to operate. It is exactly what we needed. It has performed to our expectations and more.
much more than I thought

The Aspire is a real surprise !
It can do much more than I expected ! My wife loves it – I got it for her to replace her Sony ! I was hesitant at first but after she tried it there was no way to get it away from her! I have a “happy cook” again !
Awesome Netbook

I absolutely loved my Acer Netbook. So much, that since its been stolen, I’m going to buy another one. It had a long lasting battery, was light weight, and fit into every bag I own. They keyboard felt right, never cramped. And with all the storage space, uploading pictures using the built in memory card slot, was never an issue.
Most bang for buck

I saw this same netbook “On Sale” for 3 dollars more at a local store. It only had the
3 cell battery. This one has the 6 so it lasts a good long time. That was my main reason for buying it here. I already new this machine was a good price for the money as long as
you get the 6 cell battery. If you can get the 3 cell at a really good price (ie <250) then
thats ok.

What I wanted…as expected. A compact, easy to use notebook. Priced reasonably and a consumer review magazine rated it slightly higher than the newer model.
Touch pad does not work
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This is the second Acer Netbook that I bought so far. The first one was from [...] and the screen had some issues. Than I bought another one from Amazon and now the touch pad is not working well. I bought it one month ago.
Fantastic buy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this back in May and I haven’t had a single problem. I put the Windows 7 RC on it within two days of purchasing the machine and media playback improved. When I added an additional gig of ram for 25 dollars, it was even better.
Now, I’m typing this review on the Acer, am perfectly comfortable with the keyboard at this point, and it’s running Windows 7 premium. Even BETTER.
It’s great. I keep it in the living room, it’s easier to use and has a bit more versatility than my iPhone for using the internet, watching videos, etc.
By no means would I be happy if this were my only computer, but as an extra internet/media playback device, it’s fantastic. It can multitasking surprisingly well, it’s battery power is remarkable, and if I were one to run around using the internet at Starbucks and cafes, now that I have this, I couldn’t imagine lugging a full sized laptop around.
Thrilled with the purchase.
When it breaks–and it will–get ready for customer service hell
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Many of the reviews here are from new users of this computer. Before you buy one, however, Google “Acer customer service problems” and you’ll get an idea (actually hundreds of ideas) of what you are in for. Make no mistake, your Acer Aspire will break. Mine has twice in 10 months and as you’ll see I’m not alone. Acer’s customer service is a nightmare and there is a very good chance they will not honor your warranty. They are very difficult to reach by phone and there is no way to escalate claims. My bottom line advice: avoid this and all Acer computers. But don’t take my word for it, just do a few minutes of online research before pulling out your credit card.
this computer does not work. has harddrive problems & will not bootup.

I have tried to contact customer service for this netbook. I was only able to use if for two weeks until the harddrive burned out on me. I would like to return the product, but cannot reach customer service.
Great little machine

Screen size takes a little getting used to, but the portability and keyboard are fun and easy to use. Ideal for checking email and basic surfing. Consider as an alternative to a crackberry rather than a substitute for a PC or MAC.
Love it!

I am thrilled with this purchase. It was exactly what I was looking for. This was purchased so that I would have a computer to take with me on trips. I post a daily Blog that includes pictures. The computer has an SD slot so that I was easily and quickly able to update my photos to publish to my Blog. I have a business that requires that I check email on a daily basis so I was able to easily able to take care of business. It is very light and I was easily able to carry it in my backpack and with the long battery life I was able to pack the power cord in my checked luggage so that I didn’t have to carry the additional weight.
Because of the small screen size and the small keyboard I would not want this as my only computer but to have for travel, it’s perfect.
it’s ok.

Of the 3 Asprie Ones I have purchased this is the first one in Windows XP. (others were the far superior linux) The little net books are ultra portable and Acer makes a fairly decent product. Here are my thoughts:
Cons:
#1-It runs the worst operating system EVER! (windows)
#2-The poor little processor gets bogged down a bit with all the silly windows updates.
#3-Anti-Virus is a must! of course that means bogging down the little computer with even more silly updates and system scans.
#4-did I mention it runs windows. ugh! what happened to the Linux ones?
#5-The track pad is a tricky little bugger and it takes a lot of getting used to.It’s best to purchase an extra USB mouse to use.
#6- it runs windows
#7- watching full screen movies pushes the processor to its limits. The movie and audio can skip a bit.
#8-tiny netbook = tiny wi-fi antennae.expect degraded wifi performance.
#9- windows… its yucky.and chances are good the netbook will virus crash.
Pros:
#1- cheap price, makes it expendable. Hurts less if something should happen to it.
#2- Ultra-Portable. it takes up very little valuable space in your suitcase.
#3- Extra long battery life! I used it all the way across the atlantic, watching almost 5hrs of full screen video.
#4- the screen is nice, bright, and great picture quality.
3 stars because of the windows and all the related ills that come with it. Such as viruses, endless updates, and questionable system security. All this is tasking the tiny processor. The physical hardware is good except for the track pad. I hope this helps.
LOVE IT!

I love it … I am the envy of all of my classmates and get a lot of compliments on the look of the machine also!
I love it.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Even i rated 4 i still like the Acer. The only thing I don’t like about is the touch pad and the left and right click. It’s kind of annoying, but everything else is great.
Outstanding Product – Aspire One
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We have been years trying to decide whether to buy a laptop. When we saw the HP notebook we got much closer and then we saw the ACER…the same thing for less! I have been using ours almost daily. It is so nice to sit with my wife in the evenings and either research on the net or watch a movie on it or just write a letter while she does something else. It was so easy to set up opens quickly everything I had hoped. We have not had the opportunity to exercise the wireless capability away from our home signal yet so can not comment on that. The only thing I wish is that there was more volume from the speakers. We are both 62 and the hearing is not what it used to be. Great product. At least for the 1st 30 days! Only drained the battery once and it exceeded the 6.5 hour limit. I would not go without my desktop but this product is an outstanding addition.
